Blindiadelphus recurvatus

HomeLearningSpecies FinderBlindiadelphus recurvatus

Identification notes

Recently, this plant was moved to Blindiadelphus with the only other species of Seligeria with an arcuate seta (the very rare B. campylopoda). When this little plant has capsules, it is not difficult to identify, the only possible confuser (on seta orientation at least) being Campylostelium saxicola. These species have very different leaf shapes, the nerve being longly excurrent in B. recurvatus and therefore looking very long, narrow and spiky. As is usual with the Seligeriaceae, its allies and lookalikes, confident identification requires microscopical examination of plants with recently matured capsules.
