15 February 2025 (10:30 - 16:00)

Meeting details

For this meeting we will explore Muir of Dinnet National Nature reserve, Dinnet, South Aberdeenshire. Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve is one of Scotland’s best wildlife sites. The reserve blends, woodland, heath, fen and open water and the impressive ‘Vat’, a giant pothole carved by a huge meltwater stream during the last Ice Age. We expect to see a good range of northern woodland species, but especially we hope to see both Nyholmiella gymnostomum and Nyholmiella obtusifolium, and if we are very lucky, we may see Buxbaumia viridis.

We will meet at 10.30 at the Car park in Dinnet village (NO459987) and car share for final access. All are welcome but please contact Lyn Jones (joneshamlyn@gmail.com; 07749880650) if you are planning on attending.
