Seanna Mhóinín is an old oak woodland just north of An Spidéal with the Bol Uisce river running through it. It is one of a few examples of relatively large old woodlands that still remains in west Galway and has been studied in various woodland surveys and to an extent, for bryophytes. We will be exploring the western side of this woodland (west of the river) which is privately owned by a local  family who have kindly given us permission to explore the woodland. The river is known for its rapids, so extreme caution should be taken along the river.
