Meeting details

We’ll explore the lovely and bryophyte rich woodland valley along the Withey Brook. Note that for those who wish to venture into the brook area that the going can be difficult in places, with large boulders, wet and slippery underfoot and steep paths/banks. Please ensure you read the Risk Assessment below before attending.

Directions

Here are infallible road directions to Lemarne, which are needed from the crossroads, because mobiles (a) give an incorrect destination and (b) don’t work locally:

Coming from Exeter/A30:

Come off A30 at Plusha, where there is an Esso garage, taking B3257 towards Callington. (Coming from London/Exeter, this is AFTER Launceston.) You have 3.6 miles to go.
Take the second right, marked for Trevadlock and North Hill. Carry on this winding, sometimes narrow road, going through Trevadlock, and ignoring a turn off to the left, until you reach a crossroads, where there is a lodge house, just before the hamlet of Trebartha.
Turn right, downhill, on the no through road, towards Bastreet. (Some friends have failed at this point. Yes, go down the no through road!)
Stay on this road past two right turns. (If your satnav tells you to go through the gateway of the old carriage drive, ignore it.) The second right turn is opposite entrances to a sawmill and Stonaford Manor.
The lane to Lemarne is a little further on, on the left, opposite a telephone line pole. There is a ‘Lemarne’ sign by the gateway. You may need to open the metal gate.
Lemarne is the only building, about a third of a mile along, on the right. Park in the drive or the parking Bay Area just past the drive.
