Harlech Library and Institute is holding a special exhibition on National Moss Day to launch a new Bryophyte Trail in the local park, and to celebrate the life of Daniel Angell Jones.
D.A. Jones was a Harlech resident and schoolmaster who was instrumental in setting up the British Bryological Society, becoming their first secretary one hundred years ago. BBS member Mark Lawley has written a brief account of his life which you can read here to whet your appetite!
(Check out our Bryohistory page to read about other notable bryologists too if you’re interested).
The exhibition will be open from 11am to 3 pm and visitors will be able to follow the new trail as well as viewing historical material. Tea and coffee will be provided.
